PITTSBURG (KRON) — Residents in one Bay Point community say they’re tired of their neighborhood being a dumping ground for sexually violent predators.
Fathers, mothers, children, and others stood at one Bay Point intersection Friday holding up signs demanding the Department of Corrections remove Charles Christman from their area. Christman had served time for numerous charges including lewd acts with a minor.
Christman is living in the same complex where earlier the Department of Corrections had placed another convicted pedophile, Cary Verse.
That home is just down the street from an Elementary School.
Many parents say they’ve already warned their kids to avoid Christman if they see him on the streets.
Now some activists say they’ve begun to circulate a petition calling for the permanent removal of the convicted sex offender from their neighborhood.
