LOS ANGELES (AP) – The best friend of a vanished California woman has testified that Linda Sohus and her husband avoided a tenant she described as creepy.
Susan Coffman testified Monday in the Los Angeles trial of a notorious Rockefeller impostor who rented a guest cottage on the property where Sohus lived with her husband. Coffman said the Sohuses vanished mysteriously in 1985 and a month later she received a postcard from Linda postmarked Paris, France. She said that only deepened the mystery. They had no plans to go to Paris.
Christian Gerhartsreiter is charged with murdering John Sohus and burying his remains on the San Marino property where he lived. No trace of Linda Sohus has been found.
Defense attorneys have suggested that the wife may have murdered the husband.
