CYPRESS, Texas (AP) – Authorities have arrested a 21-year-old man in a suspected stabbing attack on a college campus in the Houston area that has left more than a dozen people wounded.
A Texas sheriff says the suspect is believed to be a student who is enrolled at the Lone Star Community College System’s campus in Cypress.
Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia says officers responded to the campus after receiving a call about a white male “on the loose” stabbing people.
Victims were seen being loaded into medical helicopters.
A different Lone Star system campus in north Harris County was the site of a shooting in January. Two people were wounded, and a 22-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault.
