SAN JOSE (KRON) – Three suspects have been arrested in the June 13th homicide of a 56-year-old man in East San Jose, a San Jose Police Department spokesman says.

On Saturday the Department’s Covert Response Unit located and arrested 21-year-old Robert Alvarez, 24-year-old Cassandra Reyes and a 17-year-old male juvenile without incident. Suspect’s Alvarez and Reyes were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for murder with a gang enhancement and the juvenile was booked into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for murder with a gang enhancement.

Homicide detectives determined the murder of Gregoria Ogana on Checkers Drive was gang motivated. The victim was found in front of a residence suffering from multiple stab wounds and transported to Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 1:33 AM.

The San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation of the 24th homicide of the year.

Homicide Commander Lt. Mike Kihmm said, “I want to commend the homicide detectives on their relentless follow up on this case. They were able to solve this case within 48 hours of this murder and I am glad that it will give the family members of the victim relief that these violent criminals are off our streets.”

Persons with information regarding this case are urged to contact San Jose Police and may be eligible for a reward.
