Driver Flees After Hitting Blind Man

EAST PALO ALTO – Palo Alto police are looking for a possible female suspect who hit a blind reverend and later fled the scene.

The incident happened around 8 Tuesday evening on Myrtle street and Sparrow Court.

The man identified as Reverend Macklin says he was walking when a car backed into him. He says the car was not traveling at a high speed when he was hit, but his guide dog Eaton got trapped under the bumper.

The reverend was unable to identify the dirver, but says she approched him to see if he was ok then told him she would move her car but instead fled the scene.

Macklin identified the driver as a woman because of her voice.

Police are asking witnesses to come forward and help identify the car and driver.
