VIDEO: Two Homes Damaged in Three-Alarm Fire

OAKLAND (KRON) – Firefighters are battling a three-alarm blaze at two West Oakland homes this morning, according to a fire dispatch.

The fire, located at two single-family homes in the 900 block of 24th Street near Market Street, was reported at 3:29 a.m., according to fire officials.

The blaze is burning extensively in the attics of both of the involved buildings. Crews were originally on the roofs but have backed off for fear of a roof collapse.

The fire has been knocked down in one of the attics but continue to work on the other building’s attic.

Several homes have been evacuated.

There are no injuries at this point.

The scene is still an active fire fight as of 4:02 a.m. and it is not considered controlled yet.
