MARSEILLES, Illinois (KRON) — A 32-year old woman arrested for driving at three times the legal limit is suing an Illinois sheriff’s office after four deputies strip searched her on camera.
Dana Holmes admits she was driving drunk when she was pulled over back in May. The suit stems from what happened to her once she got to jail.
Holmes’ attorneys say the tape shows four corrections officers, three men and a woman, tackling her, doing a strip search, and then throwing her into a padded cell where they left her naked for an hour.
Officials haven’t commented on the tape or the pending litigation.
The woman’s lawyer says under state law only female officers can strip search a woman in custody.
Holmes says she hopes the deputies involve lose their jobs.
