NEW YORK (KRON) — Street artist Banksy’s works normally sell for tens of thousands of dollars in some of the world’s most exclusive art galleries so what would happen if he put his work up for sale on the street for 60 bucks a pop?
That’s just what the artist found out this weekend when he set up a stall in New York’s Central Park.

It took several hours before anyone bought anything. Evenutally a woman offered to buy a couple of the canvases but only if she got a 50% discount.
In all Banksy brought in $420 for the day. Before you say that’s not bad, note his 2007 work “Space Girl & Bird” sold for $578,000 while in 2008 his work “Keep it Spotless” went for a cool $1.8 million.
