WOODSIDE (KRON) — Don’t jog, hike, or bike along early in the morning, at dusk, or in the evening in parts of San Mateo County.
That’s the message from county wildlife officials after a mountain lion recently killed a deer in Woodside.
Residents in the area of 3400 Woodside Road found the deer carcus and called San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies.
A necropsy shows the wounds on the deer are consistent with a mountain lion attack.
Experts say mountain lions are most active at dawn, dusk, and at night.
