SANTA ROSA (KRON) — A man accused of attacking his roommate and killing her dog on Christmas Eve is now facing felony charges in Santa Rosa.
Sonoma Sheriff’s deputies say 35-year old Alan Evans came home Tuesday evening and started “talking incoherently and making no sense” the victim said.
When deputies arrived the woman says she escaped the house after Evans attacked her, pulled her hair, then said he was going into the kitchen to get a knife and eat her.
Patrol officers say they went inside the house on Hall Road where they found Evans, covered in blood, in the living room. They arrested him then reportedly found the body of the victim’s small Terrier dog stabbed to death.
Evans is in jail pending several felony charges including cruelty to an animal.
