HAYWARD (KRON) — Three suspects involved in a series of armed robberies in the Bay Area have been convicted and sentenced.
The three robberies occurred Nov. 12, 2010 at ATM machines in Fremont, Newark, and Union City.
According to police, in each incident a group of three male suspects approached the victim who was using an ATM machine. The suspects pointed a gun directly at the victim and demanded money. One victim was physically beaten when he refused to comply.
The three men convicted are Roderick Lane, 22, from Oakland, Korey Haulcy, 25, from Union City, and Michael Fletcher,18, from San Leandro resident.
Police also discovered that the same three suspects also robbed a jewelry store in Fremont a few days after the ATM robberies.
The three men were sentenced at different times. In May of 2012, Fletcher was found guilty of robbery and sentenced to 18 months in county jail. In April 2013, Haulcy was found guilty of robbery and grand theft and sentenced to ten years in prison.
On Jan. 8, 2014, Lane was found guilty of robbery and grand theft and was sentenced to ten years in prison.
