Arduini’s friend Dustin Diaz hosted that party and now is starting to worry.
The two friends had returned to the party after watching a fireworks show. “He kinda rushed out the door, not much of a goodbye,” Diaz said.
Arduini photo posted a photo of the fireworks show over San Francisco at 1:05 a.m. Jan. 1 on his Twitter account.
Another update posted thirty minutes later says, “To the various parties I’ve pissed off with my opinions and proselytizing in 2013: my apologies. It’s not getting any better in 2014.”
His last tweet said, “Ok.”
In the nine days since his mysterious disappearance, Diaz has been caring for Arduini’s cat, who he abandoned in his East Bay apartment.
There is concern that Arduini has not taken medication and has been depressed in the past.
In a statement late Thursday, the internet company Yahoo! that employed Arduini said, “We care deeply about the safety of our employees. We are aware that one of our employees has been reported missing and are working closely with the authorities to support the search. ”
Arduini is described as standing 5’10”, 150-170lbs, brown hair and eyes, and was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and red Converse sneakers. Arduini has several distinctive tattoos on his neck and chest.
Police said that searches could be happening on Friday and this weekend.
Oakland Police and Albany, New York police are also involved in the search. Arduini is from Albany, NY.
