Body Found in Garbage Chute at S.F. Mission District Motel

Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Bayview District; Suffering from Life-Threatening Injuries

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The discovery of a body in the garbage chute of a San Francisco motel does not appear to be a homicide, police say.

Guests at the motel on Valencia at 15th Street in the Mission district say they found the body at about 11:45 Wednesday evening.

The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s office investigated the scene and say they see no signs of foul play. An autopsy will be performed but police homicide detectives were not called.

Authorities say they will look into how the body ended up in the garbage chute.
