SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A Valentine’s Day argument ends with a couple taking the plunge off a 60-foot cliff and living to tell the tale.
Police say a boyfriend and girlfriend were arguing while driving their car near on Skyline Blvd at the Great Highway near Lake Merced. The couple admits they were going faster than the 45 mile per hour speed limit in moderate fog when they missed a turn and the car went off the cliff.

Firefighters say the car flipped and landed on its roof just feet from the lake.
“From the edge right there it’s about 60 feet down to where the car wound up,” San Francisco police officer Chase McKays tells KRON 4’s Mike Pelton. “The vegetation and the weeds are what stopped them from actually going into the water.”
The couple suffered only minor injuries but were taken to the hospital.
Police say the pair won’t even get a ticket for the accident.
