SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — All lanes are now open on the Bay Bridge after emergency pothole repairs Wednesday evening created huge traffic problems.
Caltrans had re-opened all closed lanes by early Thursday morning. The repairs are expected to have no effect on the Thursday morning commute.
The pothole, which was around two feet long and half a foot wide, opened up somewhere in the late afternoon or early evening, according to Caltrans spokesman Andrew Gordon.
The potholes were located on the older section of the bridge, not the new section that recently opened to traffic.
The closure took place around 7 p.m., according to the CHP.
