SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Daly City police are searching for a man who fired a weapon inside a medical building on Thursday afternoon.
Police and emergency crews responded to calls at an office building at 1500 Southgate Ave. after witnesses reported hearing a shot fired.
The building is located blocks from Seton Medical Center and Serramonte Shopping Center.
Investigators said they found bullet fragments on the second floor of the building. There were no injuries reported.
Cynthia Greaves, a spokesperson with the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, one of the building’s tenants, said that all doctors, patients, and staff were evacuated from their office safely.
The shooting turned the Daly City neighborhood surrounding the medical office building into an intense manhunt. Images show officers sweeping the area with their guns drawn and streets were cordoned off. A witness at the scene told KRON 4 through social media that “the whole neighborhood is blocked with police and swat team.”
Police said shortly before 5 p.m. that no suspect or victim was found and said shortly afterward that part of Southgate Avenue has been reopened to traffic.
Investigators said they are searching for a 60-year-old Asian male.
