SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A 20-year-old woman was hit while crossing a busy San Francisco intersection Thursday afternoon.
Police responded to calls of an incident 2:38 p.m. at Sunset Boulevard and Yorba Street.
According to police, the woman was walking west on Yorba Street when a car heading north on Sunset struck her.
The woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.
The driver, a 25-year-old woman, remained at the scene and was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, police said.
Today’s incident reinforces concerns about the intersection which locals are calling dangerous despite speed signs and clearly marked crosswalks.
On Feb. 4, a 78-year-old man was fatally struck at the same intersection.
