A search is underway near Bolinas today for a Santa Rosa woman who has been missing since Tuesday morning, police said.
Jade Dashiell, 41, was last seen dropping off her children at school Tuesday morning, Santa Rosa police Sgt. David Linscomb said. She was reported missing around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Dashiell’s white GMC Yukon was found at the Palomarin trailhead near Bolinas around 5 p.m. Tuesday, said John Dell’Osso, a spokesman for the Point Reyes National Seashore.
Santa Rosa police said Dashiell called someone in Bolinas. Dashiell might be despondent over recent life events and a gun was missing from her home, Linscomb said.
The National Park Service and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office searched for Dashiell until darkness Tuesday, the sergeant said.
Dell’Osso said the foot search resumed around 8:30 a.m. today and an air search by the U.S. Coast Guard and the California Highway Patrol will begin when the fog in the area lifts.
The Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Marin County Fire Department, Marin County Search and Rescue, National Park Service and Santa Rosa police are involved in the search, Dell’Osso said.
Dashiell is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 118 pounds. She has blonde hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a pink shirt and black yoga pants.
Anyone with information about her is asked to call police.
