NINERS: Colin Kaepernick Signs Deal to Stay a Niner Through 2020

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Colin Kaepernick appears to be staying with the San Francisco 49ers through the year 2020.

Read the Official Statement from the San Francisco 49ers is reporting the Niners have signed Kaepernick to a six-year extension worth as much as $126 million. Of that, a record $61 million is guaranteed.

“Colin’s hard work and dedication have played an integral role in the recent success of the 49ers organization,” said 49ers general manager Trent Baalke in a written statement. “His work ethic, leadership and on-field production have positively influenced our team, and we look forward to his continued growth in all areas.”

The contract makes Kaepernick one of the NFL’s top-10 paid quarterbacks.

Although he hasn’t won a Super Bowl yet, Kaepernick is a combined 21-8 as a starter in San Francisco and had led the team to three consecutive conference championship games.
