EVERGREEN, Al. – The Conecuh Sheriff’s Department has not yet identified the driver and have determined the truck was not equipped with a license plate.
Deputies continue to scan the interstate for the white work pick-up truck, but are hoping the public provides them with a fresh lead.
Surveillance video catches the driver, in a white truck, as he pulls off of I65 into a gas station parking lot. You can see the dog tied to the back of the truck, being pulled behind it.
According to a gas station employee, the driver gets out of his truck, cuts the rope, and leaves the mangled dog in the parking lot.
Workers say when they got to the dog, it was dead.
