SAN JOSE — U.S. Department of Homeland Security investigators served a search warrant this morning at a San Jose home under investigation for being used as a drug lab, a department spokeswoman said.
Investigators entered the residence around 7:15 a.m. near East Julian and North 20th streets after finding evidence that the home was being used as a narcotics processing lab, DHS spokeswoman Virginia Kice said.
She said there were potentially hazardous materials in the home and a special team and personnel from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration were called to the scene.
She said the situation has since been called under control and there is no immediate danger to nearby residents and businesses.
As of 10 a.m., she said no arrests had been made.
