Man Arrested In Connection With Violent Home Invasion Robbery

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) — Police arrested a man who was part of a group involved in a home invasion robbery that turned into a shooting in San Francisco’s Bayview District late Wednesday night, a police spokesman said.

Michael Glover, 43, was arrested after a call at 11:45 p.m. reporting that a 39-year-old was threatened outside her home in the 1500 block of Newhall Street, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The group forced their way inside by telling the woman they would shoot her if she didn’t let them in, Esparza said.

She complied and the group, allegedly comprised of Glover and three other men, entered and forced three other residents in the home into the kitchen, Esparza said.

Glover, who was allegedly armed along with another man, robbed a 39-year-old man and then fired shots at another resident, a 50-year-old man.

The injured victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with serious injuries to his arm and torso, police said.

Following the shooting, Glover allegedly took the woman’s red purse, Esparza said.

He was arrested on suspicion of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, shooting into an inhabited dwelling, robbery, tampering evidence and other charges, Esparza said.

A gun was recovered from Glover, as was the stolen purse, Esparza said.

The three other suspects, thought to be between the ages of 25 and 35, evaded police after they fled through a back door and were not caught as of this afternoon, Esparza said.
