SAN JOSE (KRON) — Authorities are investigating a possible suicide and a vehicle collision on Monday night in East San Jose that has left at least one person injured.
Investigators say that at around 3:30 p.m., members of a South Bay family called authorities after finding a letter from a man who earlier had killed a dog. The letter was described as a suicide note.
Responding deputies found the man at around 6:30 p.m. at a nearby park. The man fled in his vehicle and took deputies on a chase along northbound HWY 101 towards the Tully Road exit.
The man’s car collided with another vehicle on the Tully Road ramp. After the man’s vehicle came to rest, he pulled out a weapon then shot himself, according to officials.
The incident shut down the Tully Road ramps for several hours.
