SAN FRANCISCO — With a crowd of people wearing red, thousands gathered in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park to raise awareness and money for HIV and AIDS organizations.
For some the walk hits close to home, while others participated to support the community.
Sundays 6.2 mile walk saw nearly 20,000 runners and raised nearly 2.2 million dollars.
The death of several AIDS researches on board Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was a devastating blow at this years event, but one organizer says despite the loss the fight against AIDS and HIV moves on.
