FORT WAYNE, Indiana (KRON) — An Indiana woman is facing serious charges after she says she decided while driving to let God take the wheel.
25-year old Prionda Hill say she got the commandment from God while driving down a Fort Wayne street.
“She was driving and out of nowhere God told her that he would take it from here and she let go of the wheel and let him take it,” a police report says.
Within seconds police say Hill’s car hit motorcyclist Anthony Oliveri.
“I remember it happened and I didn’t quite know what was going on for a split second. As I grabbed the handle bars as the bike was losing control and I looked back around my left shoulder, all I see is her tire and the left bumper getting ready to run my face over. Literally I was inches from that bumper and I just said to myself today is the day I die. I just shut my eyes and said if this is the way that God wants to do it then I guess that this is the way we’re going to do it,” Oliveri told TV Station WANE.
Police say the tire missed Oliveri’s head and instead ran over his torso. He was hospitalized with non life threatening injuries.
Authorities say Hill’s car then hit a pick up truck. They arrested her at a nearby fast food restaurant. Investigators say Hill was not drunk or on other drugs at the time of the accident and her car wasn’t malfunctioning. She’s charged so far with Criminal Recklessness and Criminal Mischief.
