OAKLAND (KRON) — The Coliseum BART station is slowly re-opening after someone phoned in a bomb threat in the middle of the Friday morning commute.
BART Spokesman Jim Allison says trains are stopping and passengers can get on at Coliseum but not one is allowed to exit the trains at the station.
The call came in at about 7:40 a.m. Police immediately evacuated the station while searching the station for any possible device. BART shut down all service through the station on the Richmond-Fremont, Dublin/Pleasanton-Daly City, and the Fremont-Daly City lines. By 8:45 a.m. BART started running trains through the station although those trains are not stopping.
The shutdown at Coliseum is causing significant delays across the BART system. There are no confirmed reports of an explosive device or of any injuries.
