SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Investigators say that a woman who was found dead Friday morning after a San Francisco high-rise fire was apparently a hoarder.
Flames broke out at the Parkmerced apartment complex off of Brotherhood Way at around 5 p.m.
Alarms sounded throughout the building but crews reported finding several small fires near the bottom of the building at a unit where the woman lived, according to Deputy Chief Mark Gonzales.
The woman’s body was discovered in a cluttered apartment, Gonzales said. The victim appears to have been the only resident in the unit.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.
No other injuries were reported.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
