FREMONT (KRON) — A 15-year-old boy has been hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle on a busy Fremont road on Monday night.
The collision is blocking Paseo Padre Parkway in both directions between Grimmer Boulevard and Mission View Drive in Fremont, police said.
Crews were called to reports of a collision on Paseo Padre Parkway near Lake Elizabeth around 4:50 p.m., according to police.
The boy suffered major injuries and has been transported to a trauma center for treatment, police said.
Images from the scene show a skateboard and a number of other objects strewn on the side of the road.
The adult female driver of the silver sedan involved in the collision is cooperating with authorities. Investigators say that drugs and alcohol do not appear to to be factors in the collision.
Police said that the road is expected to reopen at about 9 p.m.
