NAPA — Power has been restored to all but 100 customers in Napa after an SUV struck and toppled a power pole Tuesday morning, a PG&E spokeswoman said.
The SUV struck the pole around 5:50 a.m. on Silverado Trail near Hennessy Drive, knocking out power to 2,700 customers and closing Silverado Trail south of the Napa County Fairgrounds between Third Street and Sousa Lane.
PG&E spokeswoman Brittany McKannay said power was restored to all but 100 customers by 8 a.m. and the remaining customers should have power back by late Tuesday afternoon or early evening.
The transmission pole and equipment nearby is being replaced, McKannay said.
Police advised motorists to use Soscol Avenue as a detour around the crash site and to access local neighborhoods via Coombsville Road.
