VIDEO: 87-Year-Old Woman Attacked, Robbed at Point Richmond ATM

POINT RICHMOND (KRON) — KRON 4 News’ Scott Rates talked with the 87-year-old victim who was attacked and robbed while using an ATM in Point Richmond.

The attack left the victim, Jeanne Knox, with a broken hip and she now requires a walker to get around.

The robbery happened around 6:45 p.m. on July 5 when the victim was withdrawing money at an ATM at the Mechanics Bank at 4 W. Richmond Ave. in the Point Richmond area, according to police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov.

Knox was withdrawing cash from the ATM when the female suspect approached her and offered to help her with the transaction.

The suspect attacked Knox, knocked her to the ground, and then fled in a vehicle.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect, who is described as a black woman between 25 and 35 years old who is about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs roughly 145 pounds with black hair, according to police.

Police are offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the suspect’s arrest and conviction.
