LIVERMORE — Westbound 580 has reopened following a Big Rig accident near Livermore.
The accident was reported early Friday morning after a big rig struck the center divide leaving parts of the truck in both EB and WB directions, causing a major backup.
The driver of the truck, Ramiro Rodriguez, says a container lost a wheel causing the truck to overturn. He says he has been a truck driver for 4-years and was traveling his regular route carrying corn for cattle at the time of the accident near the Vasco Road exit.
Two lanes on the EB direction remain closed.
No injuries have been reported.
