Woman Shot in Potrero Hill Expected to Survive


SAN FRANCISCO — A 25-year-old woman shot and robbed in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood on Thursday morning is expected to survive her injuries, police said.

Around 8:40 a.m., the woman was walking in the 700 block of Missouri Street near 22nd Street where a man approached her from behind and brandished a handgun, according to police.

The woman dropped her cellphone and was shot by the suspect as she bent down to pick it up, police said.

The suspect then fled by foot in an unknown direction with the woman’s laptop, cellphone and wallet, according to police.

The woman was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for injuries to the upper body that were not considered to be life-threatening, police said.
