FARGO, North Dakota (KRON) — For generations parents have been telling kids if they don’t stop misbehaving, Santa Claus isn’t coming to see them.
For one teenager, acting like a brat means she won’t be going to see Katy Perry.
There’s mixed reaction on social media after Cindy Bjerke put the $110 tickets to see the teen icon she had purchased for her 18-year old daughter up for sale on Facebook for $90. The tickets were sold in a matter of minutes.
In the posting, Bjerke called her daughter a “spoiled brat” who doesn’t deserve to go see her favorite entertainer.
The post quickly drew both praise and criticism of Bjerke’s parenting skills.
“It doesn’t matter what side you’re on, you’re always wrong to somebody,” she told WDAZ-TV. “I think a lot of parents are like me and feel they are being bullied over how they should parent their own children.”
Bjerke says she never meant to embarrass her daughter, just to teach the teen a lesson about the consequences of her actions.
