SAN LEANDRO (KRON) — An argument in a shoe store leads to a shooting and a manhunt at San Leandro’s Bayfair Mall.

Witnesses say two men got into the argument at the shoe store near Macy’s at about 10:50 a.m. As the confrontation intensified, police say the two men took it outside to the parking lot where the shooting happened.

Investigators say it appears one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other man in the leg. The shooter with another man and two women fled the area. The victim was taken to the hospital where he is expected to survive his wounds.

Authorities cordoned off the area of the parking lot where the shooting happened but the stores inside all remained open.

Police say the shooter is man in his late teens to early 20’s who is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs roughly 140 to 150 pounds and wore a white shirt and blue jeans. Authorities are looking at surveillance tape to get a better description.
