SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Actor Terry McGovern says acting with Robin Williams was like “being in a circus.”
In a live interview on the KRON 4 Morning News, McGovern says he spent 14 hours working with Williams on Mrs. Doubtfire. He says the director of the movie did two takes, one as scripted and one in which he allowed Williams to improvise the scene.
McGovern also teaches acting and animation at College of Marin which Williams attended while growing up in the North Bay.
The actor and teacher says he likes to tell students they can succeed just through hard work, but the truth is that some talents, like Robin Williams, are simply born with the ability to inhabit these characters.
