SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco history will be made Thursday night when Sir Paul McCartney takes the stage at Candlestick Park for the venue’s final public event.
The concert is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m. with at least 49,000 people in attendance.
Organizers are promising a unique event with special effects, fireworks and more.
Police say they’re preparing like they would for a Niners game.
“Tailgating is okay but like with every 49er event we want people to be responsible,” San Francisco Police Capt. Robert O’Sullivan says. “No underage drinking, nothing to excess. There’s an interesting twist this go around. There will be food trucks in the parking lot but they will not be selling alcohol.”
Police will also be on the lookout for vandals trying to take seats or other pieces of the stadium home a souveniers. Plans now are to demolish the historic stadium where the Beatles played their final concert.
