Campers Flee From Southern California Wildfire

GLENDORA (AP) – A wildfire in the San Gabriel Mountains northeast of Los Angeles is forcing people to evacuate from a campground and recreational areas.

U.S. Forest Service spokesman Nathan Judy says the fire above the foothill community of Glendora was reported about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

It spread to about 200 acres in an hour and sent a plume of smoke visible across the Los Angeles Basin.

Firefighters were battling the blaze in hot, dry weather.
