Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Identified

SAN JOSE — A man struck and killed in a hit-and-run in San Jose near a golf course Sunday night has been identified as 53-year-old Son Hoang Nguyen, according to police.

Officers responded at 9:51 p.m. Sunday to a call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the area of Senter Road and Balfour Drive, just west of the Los Lagos Golf Course, according to San Jose police.

A man later identified as Nguyen was found lying in the street. He was transported to a hospital where he died this morning, police said.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was crossing Senter Road, possibly on a bicycle, when a black sedan struck him.

The driver then fled the scene and remains at large, police said.
