No Foul Play Suspected In Lake Tahoe Death

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (AP) — Washoe County sheriff’s deputies say they do not suspect foul play but continue to investigate the death of a 40-year-old Incline Village man whose body was found in Lake Tahoe last week near the boat docks at Sand Harbor.

Deputies identified the victim Monday as Carl Strickland.

Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Harmon said they received a report of what appeared to be a body near the docks about 11 a.m. Friday.

Harmon said detectives determined Strickland had been working on the boat. His body was tangled in some ropes affixed to the boat and he appears to have entered the water “on his own volition.”

Harmon said it could have been an accidental death but they aren’t ruling out other possibilities. He said it doesn’t appear there was any foul play.
