SANTA ROSA (KRON) — His shirt says “Weed Shop” but authorities in Santa Rosa say Mark William Baker is really a suspect in a series of thefts near the Santa Rosa Junior College campus.

College officers arrested Baker a little more than a week ago after allegedly finding him in possession of a needle and a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

While talking with him, detectives say they realized Baker matched the description of someone seen on a surveillance tape breaking into the backyard of a home a block from the campus and stealing a bicycle.

Police say they also believe Baker, who has distinctive crisscrossing tattoos on his right forearm, stole a custodian’s key set and got into the Bertolini Student Center on the SRJC campus.

Baker was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation.
