SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A surfer has rescued a swimmer on Ocean Beach in San Francisco.
San Francisco fire dispatchers say they got a call at about 1:15 p.m. of a swimmer in distress. Fire crews and the Coast Guard responded to the location.
KRON 4’s J.R. Stone reports park rangers say while they were searching for the victim, a surfer came across him and helped him to the shore.
The 22-year old man said he had become caught in a drift and swept too far out to sea to get back on his own.
He was treated by paramedics at the scene and released.
