SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Interstate 280 is now open for traffic after a long holiday weekend construction closure.
KRON 4’s Chuck Clifford reports the first cars passed through the northbound lanes of traffic at about 9:40 p.m. Monday. That’s more than seven hours before the planned re-opening time.
Workers have been busy replacing a hinge on a bridge that was found to be vulnerable in case of an earthquake.
