PITTSBURG (KRON) — Pittsburg police say they have made an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run accident Sunday.
Herman Figueroa tells KRON 4’s Will Tran officers called him at about 1:00 a.m. to tell him they had arrested the driver suspected in the death of his wife 50-year old Michelle Braz.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the person who was arrested. Braz was killed Sunday evening on Willow Pas Road when a Chevy pickup truck lost control, hit her, and then slammed into a power pole. The truck then ran well enough to be able to flee the scene, police say.
Investigators haven’t yet said what led to the arrest in the case.
According to Pittsburg police, officers recovered the suspect vehicle in the Bakersfield area and is in evidence in Pittsburg. The suspects brother, Raul Munoz, has been arrested as an accessory after the fact for his efforts to hide the vehicle.
