PETALUMA (KRON) — Parents and students at two separate Petaluma high schools find themselves looking over their shoulder after police say a man has been trying to lure young girls to his car in the area.
It’s happened at least four times dating back to August, two incidents happening near Casa Grande High School and the other two happening near Petaluma High School.
The most recent incident occurred near Miwok Elementary School on Monday. Police say a man pulled up alongside a 15-year-old girl who was walking home from Casa Grande and asked her to get inside his car.
“The female said she was going to call police and the suspect took off,” said Lt. Tim Lyons of the Petaluma Police Department.
So far, all of the victims have been able to get away, and students say they will continue to be extra careful until police can catch up to whoever is responsible.
Police believe they are looking for the same man. The suspect is believed to be in his 40s.
