Loma Prieta Earthquake: 25 Years Later

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Twenty five years ago this week, a massive 6.9 magnitude quake erupted on the San Andreas fault line centered at the Loma Prieta peak of the Santa Cruz mountains.

The temblor leveled structures in many parts of the Bay Area killing over sixty people and injuring some four thousand others.

KRON 4’s Maureen Kelly went to some of the places hit hardest and shows us what’s changed.
