SAN RAMON (KRON) — Two men are in custody after a police raid on a marijuana grow house in an upscale San Ramon home.
Police say they busted down the door of the home on Shadowhill Circle in San Ramon at about 10:00 p.m. Monday. That’s west of I-680 near Crow Canyon and Bollinger Canyon Roads.
Inside they say they found a house filled with marijuana plants. They also say there’s evidence the growers were stealing electric power to fuel the lights and other equipment needed to grow the pot.
Police say they arrested 35-year old Guo Yong Deng and 25-year old Bofeng Huang, both residents of San Leandro. They are charged with cultivation, possession for sale, conspiracy and theft of electricity.
POlice say the marijuana seized was worth up to $1 million.
Neighbors say there was an extremely strong smell of cannabis outside the home after the raid.
