MURRIETA (AP) – Prosecutors have charged a 23-year-old Riverside County man with the murders of his stepfather and half brother after their stabbed bodies were found at the family’s home.
The Riverside County district attorney’s office on Tuesday charged Quilik Walton of Hemet with two counts of murder with special circumstances for multiple murders.
Authorities arrested Walton after the bodies of 44-year-old Deon Boyd Sr. and his 12-year-old son Deon Boyd Jr. were found Wednesday night at the family’s home in Hemet.
Prosecutors declined to immediately discuss a motive for the killings.
District attorney spokesman John Hall says the public defender’s office was appointed to represent Walton at a hearing in Murrieta. He says Walton is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 13.
