PLEASANT HILL (KRON) — All BART trains are running again after police investigated human remains found on the tracks between the Concord and North Concord stations.
Train service stopped for almost three hours Monday morning between the Pleasant Hill and Bay Point stations.
The coroner has now removed the remains from the tracks. A bus bridge had been set up during the closure.
Authorities are now looking at surveillance cameras in the area in hopes of finding out how the victim got onto the elevated tracks. The remains were found between the running rail and the electrified third rail.
BART is also looking for any potential damage to trains if one of them hit the victim. No operator reported hitting anyone although authorities had been investigating reports of a person on the tracks earlier in the morning.
