CONCORD (KRON) — A barking dog is getting credit for saving a family when their home caught on fire early Monday Morning in Concord.
The fire broke out at about 3:15 a.m. on San Carlos, south of Clayton Road and east of Galindo.
The resident says she was inside the home asleep with her two children when the dog started barking.
She woke up, went to the front of the house and says she saw flames reflecting from the windows of the home across the street.
The resident, her six-year old daughter, 13-year old son, and the two dogs all made it out safely. She tells investigators she heard someone walking outside the home just after the dog woke her up.
The cause of the fire remains unclear pending an arson investigation. There are no reports of injuries.
