OAKLAND: 29 Trees Down, 3 Mudslides Reported In Oakland

OAKLAND (KRON) — The powerful storm that has been pounding the Bay Area on Thursday is keeping Oakland’s Public Works crews busy. As of this afternoon, Public Works has reported 29 calls for fallen trees.

It is unknown if there were any injuries.

The Public Works Department has made a total of 226 storm-related calls as of this afternoon, including fallen trees and three mudslides. Mudslides were reported in three locations in the Oakland hills: in the 5800 block of Skyline Boulevard, at Bay Forest Drive and Tunnel Road and at Tunnel Road and Charing Cross Road.

Public works officials are asking residents to only call the agency’s call center in the event of an infrastructure emergency such as trees or limbs down blocking a street or damaging property, flooding, sewer overflow, missing manhole covers, traffic signals going out, stop signs knocked down or landslides.

To reach the call center, call (510) 615-5566.
